The carbon content of cast iron rolls is about 2.5% ~ 3.5%. According to the main material, it can be divided into four categories: ordinary cast iron rolls , nickel-chromium infinite cold steel composite cast iron rolls, chromium composite cast iron rolls and alloy nodular cast iron rolls. The common structures in cast iron rolls can be divided into three types: gas, hexadecane and graphite. The main seed body of the gas structure, ferrite, pearlite, bainite, martensite, and cast iron of graphite generally have two types: flake and spherical.

1. Ordinary cast iron roll

It can be divided into chilled cast iron rolling, infinite chilled cast iron rolling, and nodular cast iron rolling. Chilled cast iron is cast iron obtained by using the supercooling degree of molten iron itself and quenching the surface of the mold. The surface of the roller is cold, forming a white mouth Layer, good hardness, good wear resistance. According to the manufacturing process and core material, chilled steel rollers can be divided into three types: non-ductile cast iron, spherical core composite, and spherical core. Infinitely cooled cast iron is a material between cold steel cast iron and gray cast iron. There is graphite in the grassroots structure of the working layer, and there is no obvious dividing line between the working layer and the core of the roll body. Ordinary cast iron rolling is mainly used for rolling mills, three-roll Lloydley mills, wire mills, and bar mills.

2. Nickel-chromium infinite cold casting composite iron coil

Wuhan chilled cast iron is a material that has a boundary between chilled cast iron and gray cast iron. There is evenly distributed graphite in the basal structure of the working layer of Wuhan chilled iron cast iron. The content of graphite increases and the hardness decreases as the depth of the roller surface increases. Therefore, there is no clear dividing line between the roller working layer and the core. Infinite chilled cast iron rolling material contains more chromium and nickel. There are a large number of carbides in the matrix structure of the nickel-chromium infinitely cooled cast iron working layer, which has good wear resistance, graphite in the matrix structure, and good heat resistance. It is widely used in wide, deep and thick.

3. Chromium composite cast iron rolling

Chromium composite cast iron roll is a kind of chromium white wear cast iron containing 12% ~ 22% chromium. It is the outer material of the roll body. Generally, nodular cast iron is used as the rolling core and neck material, and the alloy composite cast iron produced by the centrifugal composite cast iron process is rolled. . There are Cr7C3 type eutectic carbides on the fuselage, chrysanthemum-shaped Mo2C type eutectic carbides, granular Cr23C6 type secondary carbides, high chromium cast iron rolls have good wear resistance, and are widely used in hot-rolled strip steel rolling mills. Pre-rolling mill and finishing work, bare plate roughing and finishing work, small steel.

4. Ductile cast iron roll

Since the graphite is evenly distributed into a spherical shape from the body to the core, the ductile cast iron has good tensile strength, can withstand heavy loads, and has good wear resistance. The gas structure is carbide and pearlite or acicular body, and the ductile cast iron roller can be divided into two categories according to the basic structure of the roller body. Pearlitic ductile cast iron rolling and acicular zone ductile iron casting and ductile cast iron rolling generally adopt integral casting, but acicular cast iron rolling has high casting stress due to good alloy content, and ideal comprehensive use can be obtained by adopting centrifugal composite casting process performance. Ductile cast iron has good thermal shock resistance and wear resistance, and is widely used in large steel rolling mills, continuous bar mills and large seamless pipe mills.
